Snowy picture is easy to fix
But very missunderstood by lots of people

Snowy picture is missunderstood by lots of people. People think that low signal reception, bad LNB or impaired line of sight has anything to do with it. Well, the answer is NO. Absolutely none of the above affect the picture quality.

Basically, there are only two reasons why the picture quality gets affected. The first one got to do with the connection, including cable, between the receiver and TV set.

The worst cable that a person can use to connect a satellite receiver to a TV set is a push in style cable. These cables are great to use and easy connect. However, when it comes to reception, they sure give you a Snowy picture often.

You want better quality cable, you MUST use screw type of cables. We know they are hard to connect. But, think about this: Do you want an easy connection with a crappy picture or do you want a cable that gives you by far better reception, even though it is a bit harder to connect? The choice is yours.

How much money you have to spend for these cables? Not much, a standard coaxial screw type will do the trick. However, if you want to go better in quality, a gold plated connectors type will do it. In fact, we have compared the picture quality between a gold plated coaxial cable connectors with a S-Video cable. And do you know what we have found out? The picture is almost identical. It is hard to noticed the difference. Unless, you have two TV's connected side by side, it is hard to tell which one is better.

Obviously, we cannot blame it on the cable alone. There has been cases where the TV has old connectors using Y adapter connectors. For this case, you cannot do much. Unless, you have to change your TV set.
