Complete Shaw Direct Receivers LineUp
No matter if you're a new customer or existing customer, you have 3 different Shaw Direct Receivers to choose from: DSR209, DSR600, DSR605 and DSR630. The first receiver is not a High Definition. While the last three are HDTV receivers. Be aware, in order to have HDTV, you MUST have an elliptical dish. It comes in two sizes: 60cm and 75cm. Also, you have the option of either a
Dual Stack LNB
or
Quad LNB.
The last one is the latest one from Shaw Direct. Quad LNB allows you to connect up to four receivers with no additional switches. On the other side, the Dual Stack LNB connects only 2 receivers only.
Shaw Direct Receiver DSR209
This is the entry level for Shaw Direct receivers. Here are the main features for this unit:
a)On Screen Guide: allows you to watch a show while surfing either other channels or option menu on the receiver.
c)Full Digital picture Quality: Crystal clear picture. It provides up to 400 lines of resolution.
b)Stereo Sound Quality: it comes with a set of RCA preouts and coax out. Obviously, the RCA will deliver better sound quality.
d)On Screen Guide Menu: This receiver provides up to 48 hours of schedule to the shows will be available.
e)Universal Remote: It will controls TV, VCR, Satellite and DVD. All in one remote. Be aware, it works mainly for well known brand names.
Shaw Direct Receiver DSR600
This new receiver will be released on July 4th on a first come, first serve basis. The main features this receiver brings are:
• Low cost - It’s never been easier to go HD with the new Essential HD receiver
• Ultra low profile HD/SD satellite receiver. The HDDSR 600 is 10’’ x 5,75’’ x 1.5’’ and weighs a little over 1lb.
• Essential connectivity via HDMI, composite and coaxial. Perfect for auxiliary HDTV’s or even the RV.
• MPEG-4 and 3DTV compatible. With the introduction of the HDDSR 600, Shaw Direct will be distributing an 100% HD and MPEG-4 compatible platform in the marketplace.
• Utilizes the same advanced software as the DSR605 with 14 day guide outlook, advanced search abilities, parental controls and more.
• Future ready for Ethernet based services such as Set-top VOD as well as 1080p broadcasts.
Shaw Direct Receiver DSR605
The DSR605 receiver is your entry level in High Definition format. It has HDMI input and USB to connect external hard drive. It comes with one Year Warranty. Here are the main features in this receiver:
a)Same features as DSR209.
b)HDTV format: You can enjoy High Definition by connecting to either component inputs or using DVI connection.
c)UHF Capability:It allows you to control your satellite receiver anywhere in the house. In otherwords, you can connect this receiver to multiple TVs and change channels ANYWHERE in the house. All TVs will be watching the same channel.
d)HDMI Input:The previous model it had only composite video only.
e)USB Port:This receiver has the capability to connect an external drive (future use.)
Shaw Direct Receiver DSR630
This is the Cadillac of all Shaw Direct Satellite HDTV Receivers. The following are the main features for this receiver:
a)Same features as DSR605.
b)Dual Tuner Receiver: It will allows you to watch and record another channel at the same time.
c)Big Size Hard Drive: It has a hard drive that records up to 200 hours of standard television or up to 30 hours in High Definition format.
