Change channels anywhere in the House with a Remote Extender!
A remote extender is a wireless adapter which is connected to any Satellite Receiver. In fact, it doesn't matter whether it is American or Canadian system. It is wonderful to control your TV from multiple locations in the house.
There are so many types of these devices. However, there are two basic types:
Pyramid Remote Extenders
The first type are those which will control your satellite from a second location ONLY. The most popular extenders are the pyramid styles. It uses two pyramid. One pyramid is connected to the receiver and the second one goes to the room where you want to switch channels. In otherwords, both pyramid comunicate to each other. So, when you are in the second room, you point to the pyramid. Subsquently, this pyramid comunicates with the one by the receiver, and flip the channels.
Battery Remote Extenders
The second type are those which are called battery remote extender. This extender is great for changing channels anywhere in the house. It composed of a antenna sensor and a battery sensor. The antenna sensor is attached to your satellite receiver. And the battery sensor is connected to your satellite remote control. So, no matter where you take your remote control, you can change channels. In other words, the battery comunicates with the antenna sensor attached to your receiver.
There is one WARNING! You can use these two devices AS LONG AS, you have a cable coming from the back of the receiver, into the other TV sets. Remember, these wireless Remote extenders DO NOT send video to the rest. In fact, it ONLY allows you flip channels. So, without a cable for picture, you cannot watch TV.
