Lag Screws

For all
Your Satellite Mounting Needs

Lag screws are bolts with sharp points and coarse threads designed to penetrate and grip wood. The most popular, for satellite installation, are the Hex Head Lag Bolts. The following size are the most popular used by installers: 1/4" x 1.5", 1/4" x 2.0" and 1.4" x 3.0"

When mounting a satellite dish, in a concrete surface, all you need is to drill a hole and put a plastic wall mount expansion anchor. This anchors fit screws size of 6-8-10. For extra security, washers is a must. Set a washer to avoid lag bolts to sink inside wood surface.

How to mount the screws easier? Simple, all you need to do is buy a Lag Bolt Driver. This makes life so simple for any installer. No need to use wrenches or predrilling holes. One touch drilling; and like magic, the screws are set in its place.

It is great if you use a stud finder before drilling and get the mounting part. Otherwise, what will happen, your dish will be loose. So, if you live in a place where there is so much wind, the signal will go down at no time.

A minimum of 4 lag bolts should be set up in your installation. Less than that, it will make the dish to move back and for. It is better to avoid a problem.

Last and not least, a good practice is to seal the holes created by the screws. Especially if the mounting is setup in a roof surface. The last thing you want is getting calls, from customer, to service your dish due to leakage issues.
