The new kaband system is powered up by using HughesNet Spaceway-3 satellite. Kaband allows you to provide High Speed up to 37 1/2 faster than your phone line. It doesn't matter where you live. As you long as you have a clear line of sight facing South, High Speed Internet is ready for you. This satellite internet is distributed by Xplornet Satellite systems. It came to Canada on July 2005. This is the second generation of High Speed Internet Satellites.

The Ka-band satellite consist of a 74 cms oval dish with a modem box. In order to send and receiver internet, you must connect to coaxial cables from the dish to the modem box. One cable is for sending, the other is for transmitting. Please notice, you MUST use Compscope RG6 . This is the industry standard for this particular system.

Multiple Computers can be Connected

Believe or not, you can connect a wireless router to this system. However, you MUST be connected to a minimum package which provides 1 Megabyte download speed. Otherwise, it will be too slow to handle. Same thing is applied for Internet telephone. You can use services such as Vonage.
