There are two Bell ExpressVu Receivers in the market. Depending what you need, you can get High Definition (HDTV), Recording capabilities & Interactive options.

ExpressVu 6131 Model

Why wait? You can enjoy the beautiful picture of High definition. With over 30 channels to choose from, HDTV is the way of the future. The following are the main features of 6141 HD ExpressVu Receivers:

a)It has all the features of Model 4100 Receiver (discontinued receiver): Interactive features, Single RCA Preouts.

b) Component Video: To provide with the best quality picture, the 6131 receiver comes with a set of Composite Video jacks. This provides an outstanding 1080i HDTV picture.

c) Single set of RCA Input Jacks: These jacks allow you to connect any video machine such as DVD's VCR, Camcorder and much more. The 6131 has one set of rca cables.

d) HDMI: HDMI stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. HDMI is the first one to introduce uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface using ONE single cable.

e) USB 2.0 Port: It allows you to add a hard drive to this receiver. In otherwords, it will work as the PVR 5900 receiver. Later this year, Bell ExpressVu will be upgrading the firmware of the ExpressVu 6141.

f) MPEG-4 capability: MPEG-4 is an advanced audio video compression scheme that will allow ExpressVu to deliver bandwidth hogging high definition signals more efficiently. The transition to MPEG-4 by ExpressVu has not been confirmed and is not expected for several years but MPEG-4 capabiliyt now means the receiver will be able to handle new future signal transport systems.

Combine the Recording Power with HDTV:
ExpressVu Model 9241

This is it. Its the cadillac of Bell ExpressVu Receivers. You get to enjoy not only the HDTV experience but also the power of recording while watching another show at the same time. The following are the main features for this receiver.

a)It has the same features as model 6131 Receiver.

b) HDMI connection: The best connection for the best receiver. This receiver has an HDMI connection. Thus, it provides the highest quality picture in High Definition format.

c)More Recording Capability: The 9241S HDTV Receivers have a hard drive with capability to record 200 hours of stardard TV quality & 30 hours of HDTV. Be aware, HD has more information, thus, it requires more memory to record.

Please be aware that both Express Vu 6141 & 9241 receivers are capable to connect an external hard drive using USB port.
