DVI cable provides a great HD picture
by using one single cable

DVI type of cables

DVI stands for Digital Video Interface. This DVI cable gives you great picture quality in High definition format. There are three kinds of DVI to choose from. DVI-Analog (DVI-A), DVI-Digital (DVI-D) and DVI-Integrated (DVI-I). Both DVI-A and DVI-I can carry analog signal only. Satellite systems, as Star Choice uses DVI-D. This means that carries only digital picture quality. The majority of Television sets such as Plasma & LCD use this type of cable.

DVI vs Component Video

The difference between DVI-D and Component Video is the way each cable delivers the signal from Satellite Receiver into the TV set. For DVI-D, the signal is delivered in a digital format. Component Video sends the signal in different voltages: The red, green and blue components of the signal. From the theory point of view, DVI-D is better. But when it comes to compare picture quality between both connections, the difference is little.

Please remember, DVI-D delivers only video picture. Thus, you need to connect a set of RCA/Patch cords to have sound.
